LA CAMPAGNA ROMANA. DA HACKERT A BALLA (The Roman Campagna. From Hackert to Balla)
22nd November 2001 – 24th February 2002 This exhibition featured one hundred and thirty works, coming from Italian and foreign museums as well as private collections, demonstrating both the role and meaning of the Roman Campagna in the history of European and Italian landscape painting. During the nineteenth and twentieth century many artists who had refined their taste for landscapes were attracted by the Campagna, a European and Universal natural heritage which, from the last quarter of the eighteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century, was explored by the protagonists of the Grand Tour.The exhibition was curated by
