UNA COLLEZIONE DA SCOPRIRE: CAPOLAVORI DAL ’500 AL ’700 DELL’ENTE CASSA DI RISPARMIO DI ROMA (A collection to be discovered: Masterpieces from the sixteenth to eighteenth century

2nd February 1999 – 31st March 1999 This was the Museum’s opening exhibition which presented an interesting anthology of the works belonging the Fondazione Roma, dated from the sixteenth to the seventeenth century, bringing to light paintings, tapestries and Papal medals. Paintings such as The Pietà, by Marcello Venusti, and the Madonna che legge col Bambino, Santa Elisabetta e San Giovannino (Madonna reading and Child, Saint Elisabeth and Young Saint John), by Francesco de’ Rossi, called Salviati were shown. Moreover, the magnificent halls in the historical headquarters of the Foundation, Palazzo Sciarra, were displayed in a virtual exhibition.
