LA FAMIGLIA NELL’ARTE. STORIA E IMMAGINI NELL’ITALIA DEL XX SECOLO (The family in art. History and images in twentieth century Italy)
22nd November 2002 – 9th March 2003 This exhibition addressed one Italy’s most significant social themes through paintings by leading twentieth century Italian artists and underlined how the institution of families characterizes society in this country. The Exhibition was divided into six sections (idyllic relationships, wives, every day intimacy and family environments, fathers, portraits of families and families in advertisements) showing a variety of aspects that have been interpreted by artists according to their individual perception, experience and inspiration, ranging from Giacomo Balla to Umberto Boccioni and from Giorgio De Chirico to Renato Guttuso.The exhibition was curated by
