Movimento Arte Concreta 1948-1952
113th May 2003 – 31st August 2003 This exhibition explored one of the twentieth century’s most prestigious movements of Concrete Art, the Movimento Arte Concreta, established in Milan in 1948 by renowned artists such as Bruno Munari, Atanasio Soldati, Gillo Dorfles, painter and critic and Gianni Monnet, architect and graphic designer. The exhibition featured approximately forty works accomplished between 1948 and 1952 and emphasised the geometric precision of the artists belonging to the first period of the art movement, plainly in contrast with post-cubists and realists and their strive to develop pure and primordial forms.Exhibition curated by
