LA ROMA DI PIRANESI. LA CITTÀ DEL SETTECENTO NELLE GRANDI VEDUTE (Piranesi’s Rome. The eighteenth century city in his large views)
14th November 2006 – 25th February 2007 This exhibition presented to the public a large selection of graphics and engravings produced by Giovanni Battista Piranesi in order to examine his entire artistic career. Almost the whole collection of this Master’s famous Vedute of Rome was displayed. From Villa Albani to the Coliseum, Saint Peter’s square to the monuments in the ancient Campo Vaccino (cattle field) these etchings are undoubtedly the most important record of how the Eternal City looked in the eighteenth century.The exhibition was curated by
